New Deco Hat

Super busy day here trying to clean up after our long weekend down the Cape.  We had a great time visiting with one of my oldest and dearest friends Jill.  When my kids talk about having a really, and I mean REALLY, good friend we call that friend "Your Jill".  Everyone should have a Jill.

So, here is a new hat I made with some of my "Deco" flowers on it made from t-shirt scraps.  I used the same method I do for my t-shirts.  I make most of the puffy 3D flowers separately and then attach them to the shirts or in this case the hat.  I also used some rubber buttons and some beads as the centers for the two flowers on the sides.  The middle flower is a rose.  I cut a 1.5  x 14 inch piece of material and gathered it on one long side.  I then twirled it up to form the flower...super easy and quick.  You can use this technique on ribbon and paper.  Give it a try and let me know how you do...link me to a photo.

And here is "My Jill" wearing the hat at the Cape this weekend while she was on kid watching duty at the beach.    We had a blast and can't wait for next years visit.

Have a great day everyone. Check back tomorrow for some other ideas and projects I have been working on.  I just got a big package from myStamp Box last week with some great new stamps in it.  I already have a fun layout in the works and can't wait to share it with you.
