It's Prom Night (Karen Foster Style)

Gosh, I remember my Junior prom dress like it was yesterday. Yellow satin with a big bow on the front. God forbid I just go buy a dress. No, instead I got my mother to make it. She is just the best. She took the top from one dress and the bottom from another and made me the coolest yellow satin mermaid dress....I was HOT!!! ROFL! Here is a picture of it but unfortunately you can only see the top. Around the neck and wrists were little rhinestones we sewed on. The rhinestones were around the mermaid part on the bottom....or crud I wish I had a photo of that. BTW...this is not my husband and when we saw this he said he was going to come over and make some nasty comment...we'll see.

Anyway another blabbering from me. This is not about my yellow dress but is about the new Karen Foster Prom line that debuted at CHA in January.

The KF papers used a really cool pink that did not go well with my photo so I took some Stickles and painted over all the pink accents on the patterned paper and stickers. The sparkle was orange so it turned the pink almost coral with matched the dress in the photos.

I used some Perl Sparkle Brads on this layout to bring out the grey tones in the patterned paper. The Getting Ready PP could be used for any type of dress up/hair do pages you may want to create.

Here is a fun card that does not even have to be used for anything prom related. Two stickers, some cardstock and a scrap of patterned paper and you have a fun card to give to a girlfriend. I really liked this sticker sheet also. I felt it had a good number of stickers that could be used for a number of projects. That's it for me for tonight...have a good one! MF signature

  1. LOL at your prom photo... I have no idea where mine are... but I do remember the dress... pink (went great with my red hair - ya right!) off the shoulder and then lots of tiers that were all at an angle... looked like a cross between a big pink wedding cake and the leaning tower of pizza.

Love how you used the stickles on the KFD papers - that color pink was pretty bright!

  2. You looked so pretty. What a great mom! No prom for me. Love what you did with the layouts and card. Glad to see you are still a scrapping queen!
