So...do you have an advent calendar?

So, who has started their Advent Calendar?  Anyone?  We do a 12 days of Christmas one at our house. We always start it on Gail's birthday, which is on the 12th of December.  Funny thing, I don't even have any photos of it...need to do that when it comes out next week.

But, in the meantime I want to show you this calendar I made for Karen Foster Design.  I used the countdown calendar boxes for the middle and added a Styrofoam wreath around it.  I made the wreath by cutting a hole in the middle of a flat circle piece of foam.

I then die cut about a million paper flowers, misted them with water, scrunched them up, and wrapped them in a towel to dry.  I then layered them and attached them with a pin to the Styrofoam.  Oh, a little glitter glue on each pin hid the ugly metal.

The countdown boxes I covered with one single sheet of KF paper that I cut to fit each box.  I used scrappers floss and tied knots to make the little handles on each box.  Added some glitter glue and a few stickers accents...and voila!  It really was not a quick voila...this thing took me forever!

I have it sitting in my kitchen now on display...no goodies in this one. Just love looking at it.  I will show you the 12 days later this month.  Now, go pull out your calendars or go grab one at the store...they are so much fun and no matter how big or small your kids will love them.
