I was given a wonderful opportunity a week or so back.  I was asked by MAMBI (Me and My Big Ideas) to do work for them for their trade show booth at CHA.  I was super excited...as you would expect.

For the next few days I will be showing you what I made using the MAMBI School, Baby Girl and Boy, Wedding and Sports lines.  Oh my..what fun colors and patterns.  The chipboard accents are to die for.  And each page kit you buy which are called MAMBI kits is full of so many things.  You can make layouts, cards, paper projects and still have "stuff" left over.

Here is a project I did with the "Baby Boy" Line.

The train sticker, which is dimensional, was one long piece.  I cut it apart so it would fit across three blocks.  The stars where just yellow until I added gold Stickles to them so they would sparkle.
I cut felt scallop circles to go with the sticker accents on the side of this block.  You can also see them on the top orange accent.
My hubby Gregg cut the blocks for me from a stair post he got at Home Depot.  I then painted them blue and mod modged paper onto each side.  I then took a brown ink pad, chaulk ink, and added some dimension and antiquing effect to the edges.  I did the same to the stickers so they were not so white in color.

This entire project was made from just one 8x8 layout kit.  And I had enough left over for at least a layout or a couple of cards.

CONTEST ALERT!  Leave a comment on my blog each day for the rest of the week and on Friday I will pick a winner of some really cool products that will sure get you scrap on!

That's it for me for today.  Check back tomorrow for more MAMBI creations.

  4. What a fabulous, talented artist you are. I adore the felt scallops - genius, and the idea of making a train out of the one sticker was inspired! Congrats and well done!

  5. I absolutely love these blocks. I would love to make this as a gift but maybe add a letter to each block spelling out the child's name. I love using mod podge now that I have had practice ;) can't wait to see you other projects this week.
